Woman Drowns in Hallsboro Wreck

One woman died after her car crossed the centerline and landed in a pond near Hallsboro today (Saturday).

A woman drowned near Hallsboro after striking this car and crashing her vehicle in a pond today.

The wreck occurred on Hallsboro Road South just before 4 p.m. The woman struck another car as she crossed the centerline, sending the second vehicle into a ditch. That driver was transported with non-life threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol is investigating. It was the second fatal crash in the county this year.

Firefighters blocked Hallsboro Road while the victim was recovered.
