Woman Charged with Animal Cruelty
Multiple dead dogs and neglected animals were seized from a Cerro Gordo home Friday.
Pamela Hammonds, 53, of 52 Pond Drive, Cerro Gordo, was released on $2,500 unsecured bond on charges of assault on an officer, resisting, and cruelty to animals, according to detention center report.
The sheriff’s office was called to the Pond Drive home Friday just before 5 p.m., according to a report. Animal Protective services was already on the scene.
There were numerous dog cages occupied by dogs that were malnourished and unkept, according to the report. They also located numerous animal carcasses in various states of decay.
Animal Protective Services and the sheriff’s office are investigating.
