Victim Identified in Saturday Wreck

The victim in the second road death in Columbus County this year was a Clarendon woman.,

Elicia Porter Sellers, 45, of Ed Ward Road in Clarendon, died after her car overturned in a canal around 3:30 p.m., according to the Highway Patrol. The crash occurred approximately four miles from Hallsboro.

Sellers was heading north on Hallsboro Road South when she crossed the centerline and sideswiped a southbound Ford car driven by Brandon Strickland of Hallsboro. Sellers’ Nissan then left the roadway and overturned in a canal.

Strickland’s vehicle came to rest in a roadside ditch.

Strickland was not seriously injured, Pait said. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
