The Pack Win on the Road
An explosive second half by the Whiteville Wolfpack helped clinch the Waccamaw Conference Championship with a 42-12 win over the Trask Titans. Whiteville is now 4-0 in Conference play while Trask dropped to 3-1. Even if the Pack loses its final game and has the same final Conference record as the Titans, the head to head win will give Whiteville the Championship.

Whiteville scored first less than 2 minutes into the game when Zay Best scored on an 18 yard Touchdown. Grayson Creech added the first of his 6 extra points on the night and the Pack led 7-0. Trask answered soon afterwards with a 15 yard touchdown run by Brandon Bannerman. The 2 point conversion failed leaving the score 7-6 Whiteville with 7:55 left in the first quarter. With 4:08 left in the first half, quarterback Luke Odham found the endzone from 16 yards out. Creech tacked on the extra point and the Wolfpack led 14-6. As time expired in the first half the Titans quarterback Jamiel Davis scored on a 9 yard TD run, again the 2 point conversion failed and Whiteville led 14-12 in what was an equally played first half. The 2nd half was a different story as the Pack defense held Trask at bay and the offense added 4 Touchdowns propelling the Pack to the conference Championship. Whiteville’s 2nd half scoring started with 7:40 left in the 3rd quarter on a 15 yard run by Best. Making the score 21-12. Nallegem Powell added a 35 yard TD run with 6:23 left in the quarter and Odham scored his 2nd TD of the night from 20 yards out with 3:19 left on the clock extending the Pack led to 35-12. The Wolfpack added their final touchdown of the game with 3:18 left in the final quarter when Montrez Holland found pay dirt from 6 yards out making the final score 42-12. Zay Best's 2 TD performance earned him the Kool 103.9 Player of the Game. The sophomore also had several other key runs during the game.
Whiteville will host South Columbus Friday on Senior Night for the Pack. This will be the final regular season game.
