Rev. Dr. Ralph McCoy Hill

Smithfield – Rev. Dr. Ralph McCoy Hill, 83, went to be with his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in UNC Johnston Health of Smithfield.

Born September 20, 1938, in Johnston County, he was a son of the late Richard E. Hill and Edith B. Hill. He is preceded in death by his siblings: John Thomas Hill, Robert E. Hill, Richard Charles Hill, Harvey Gene Hill, Leon Elwood Hill, Olive Inez Creech and Mary Elizabeth Austin. Ralph was a minister in the United Methodist Church for 44 years and touched many lives in the ministry. He served charges in Hampstead, Bolivia, Fair Bluff, Keener and elsewhere. Ralph will be missed by all his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Clayton. The family will receive friends for visitation following the service until 9:00 p.m.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Linda Hill; son, Ralph McCoy Hill Jr. and wife Callie of Mebane; daughter, Rhonda Hill Weaver and husband Jefferson of Hallsboro; brother, Wade Dixon Hill and wife Jean of Smithfield; grandchildren Emery Hill and Cara Hill, and his beloved niece, Kimberlee Ann Hill of the home.
