Reported Clark Street Dealer Jailed in Bladen

Community complaints led to the arrest of a Clarkton man on narcotics charges Dec. 12.

The Bladen Sheriff’s Office reported that James Alvin Ratliff, 43, was charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling controlled substances, and being a habitual felon. Ratliff was held at the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center under a $105,000 bond. His address was listed as the 100 block of North Clark Street.

Numerous callers told the BCSO of suspected drug activity at the home, the BCSO reported. Undercover purchases of cocaine and marijuana were made at the home, a news release said.

When deputies raided the property, Ratliff was not home. They recovered a large quantity of marijuana, and later captured Ratliff at another location. The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office Vice-Narcotics Unit, Community Impact Unit, Criminal Investigation Division, and Patrol Division participated in the raid and investigation.
