Man Attacks Woman on Big Island Road

An Evergreen woman is recovering after she was reported assaulted by a knife-wielding assailant Tuesday night.

Cristal Martin, 29, was found on the porch of a home in the 200 block of Big Island Road just before 10 p.,m. She told deputies she had been attacked by a man who picked her up on the road.

Martin said she exited the vehicle in which she was a passenger, and was walking down the road when an unidentified man gave her a ride. Once she was in the vehicle, the report said, the man attacked her and took several items of her clothing.

The report said Martin was "visibly upset and in shock" after the attack. She was transported town area hospital by EMS with multiple lacerations.
