Kathy Sue Brust

March 16, 1969 - October 19, 2022

Kathy Taylor Brust of Green Sea, SC was born to the late George Franklin Taylor and Minnie Leigh Britt Taylor in Robeson County on Sunday, March 16, 1969, and was born into eternity on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at her residence, completing her journey of 53 years.

Kathy was a native of the Orrum community. She grew up in the Broad Ridge Baptist Church where she was: saved, baptized, and married to the love of her life Charles. After graduating college, she was employed with the Public Schools of Robeson County. she was presently teaching at Orrum Middle School. Teaching was one of her greatest joys. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, going to the beach, and taking cruises’. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She served alongside her husband as the Pastor’s wife of Green Sea Baptist Church in Green Sea SC.

She is survived by her husband of 32 years: Rev. Charles Brust; one daughter: Kaitlin Brust Strickland and her husband A.J. of Fair Bluff and one son: John-Franklin Taylor Brust of the Home; her brand new granddaughter: Olivia Wren Strickland; her aunt: Ann Britt Perritt; two special cousins: Sara Collins and husband Reggie and Malcolm Britt and wife Heather; a honorary father John Matroni; and a special Puppy Humphrey as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Broad Ridge Baptist Church in Orrum, Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Broad Ridge Baptist Church in Orrum and at other times at 166 George Enzor Dr. Fair Bluff NC 28439.
