Jimmy Lee Brisson, age 85, of Bladenboro went to his eternal home on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 after a long battle with illness.

He reunited with his parents, Luther Franklin Brisson and Mary Helen Hester Brisson, his loving wife Phyllis Brisson, his son Little Jimmy and his son-in-law Phil Edwards.

Left to cherish his memory are son Rocky Brisson of Wilmington, stepson Joey Butler (Heather) of Whiteville, daughters Phyllis Conner (Billy) of Ocean Isle, and Debbie B. Edwards of Bladenboro, two sisters Judy Yates (Steve) of Providence Forge, VA and Joan Allen (Harold) of Bladenboro, four grandchildren Heath Conner (Kelly) Chasity Wilkins (Dickie), Sam Edwards, and Leann Hester (Cory), four step grandchildren Parker, Weston, Jake and Kelbi Butler and seven great grandchildren.

Jimmy was a dedicated hard-working man until the age of 75. He was a carpenter by trade and built 48 homes in Bladen County. He was the owner and operator of Bladen Asphalt & Maintenance in Bladenboro and also the founder of the Benefit for Bladenboro Committee.

When not working he enjoyed family time, going to the beach, visiting the mountains of NC, and NASCAR racing. Wherever there was a crowd, you would find Jimmy. He loved people and especially enjoyed cooking for them. His love for his community and his family will be remembered for many years to come

The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at New Light Church in Bladenboro followed by a funeral service at 2 pm with the Reverend Dale Hester and the Reverend Heath Conner officiating. Burial will follow the services in the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bladenboro.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to the Bladenboro Benefit Committee through the Bladen Baptist Association.
