Jerry Linwood Johnson

Jerry Linwood Johnson, Sr. age 78 of Evergreen, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville.

Jerry was born on December 24, 1943, in Columbus County, son of the late William O. Johnson and Rena Leggett Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beth Shaw Johnson, and his siblings, Leggett Johnson, Tom Johnson, and Bill Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Pastor Willard McPherson and Pastor Randy Hunt officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service.

Survivors include a daughter, Meribeth J. Nye and her husband, Benny Jr. of Lake Waccamaw; a son, Jerry L. Johnson, II of Evergreen; grandchildren, Trey Nye (Lauren), Chase Nye (Savannah), Colt Johnson (Taylor), Ozzly Johnson (Larramie), great-grandchildren, MaryElla Grace Nye, and Aubrey Paige Nye; siblings, Grey J. Pearce of Winston Salem and Sondra J. Merritt (Tyrone) of Whiteville.
