James Vernon “Buddy” Soles, age 77 of Chadbourn, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 14, 2022, at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville.
Buddy, as he was lovingly known, was born on March 10, 1945, son of the late J.V. Soles and Mabel McCracken Soles. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Betty Soles Yow and Nina Soles Carroll.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Worthington Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Ward Station Church of God Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, at the funeral home.
Buddy leaves behind his loving wife of 46 years, Lorena Jordan Soles of the home; children: Billie Dale McKenzie (Patrick) of Charleston, Sherri Blackman of Chadbourn, Jordan D. Blackman of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Cameron Allmendinger (Anna), Haley Connor, Mitchell McKenzie (Katie), and one great-grandchild on the way; brother, Kenneth Ray Soles (Candy) of Chadbourn.
