Gerald Wayne Jenkins

Gerald “Jerry” Wayne Jenkins age 76, of Cerro Gordo passed on Sunday morning October30, 2022 at his residence.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn.

Jerry honorably served his country in the United States Air Force and later was employed by Southern Bell Telephone in Charleston, SC for over 30 years before retiring in 1999 and moving back to Columbus County.

He was the son of the late Howard Nathan Jenkins and Gracie Lois Barnhill Jenkins. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Howard Larry Jenkins, Mary Delores Jenkins Medlin, Patricia Jenkin Connor.

He is survived by his wife, Trudie Patricia Ellis Jenkins of the home; a daughter, Karen Jenkins Rogers (Brent) of Conway, Arkansas; a son, Nicholas M. Coward (Michele) of Cullowhee; siblings, Glenda Jenkins Fipps of Chadbourn and Janice Medlin of Bristol, TN; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Rogers (Brandon) Crisco), Ella Coward and Zander Coward; and a great-grandchild, Declan Crisco.
