Family Dollar Employee Charged with Embezzlement

Chadbourn Police have charged a woman with embezzling more than $10,000 from the Family Dollar store.
Samantha Faulk Dehne, 35, of 2213 Swamp Fox Hwy. East, Tabor City, was released on a $10,000 unsecured bond on three counts of embezzling more than $10,000, according to detention center reports.
Chief Ken Elliot of the Chadbourn Police said his department was contacted by Family Dollar after an internal investigation showed discrepancies.
Warrants show that on three different occasions, Dehne is alleged to have taken six store deposits for her own use.
The totals for the deposits were $4,999.84, $12,678.91, and $5,192.78, according to the warrants.
