Family Asks Donations to be Shared With Others
The family who lost everything in a house fire Friday has been so overwhelmed by donations that they are trying to help others.
Acme Delco Riegelwood Fire Chief Steve Camlin said multiple stations were called out the the fire on N.C. 11 Friday around 3 p.m. Smoke and flame were visible when units arrived. Two teenagers inside the home escaped without injury, but the two females and seven other family members lost everything.
Camlin asked for donations for the family Friday night, and by Monday morning, the firehouse at ADR was overwhelmed with items donated for the family.
"The family has plenty," the said Monday, "and is asking that anything else be donated to area homeless shelters."
