Early Voting Ends Saturday at 3 p.m.


Early voting ends Saturday in Columbus County.

As of Thursday evening, the board of elections reported 699 new ballots cast, bringing the county total to 7,953 for the entire one stop period. Of those votes, 4,152 ballots have been cast by Democrats, 2,037 Republicans, and 2,006 unaffiliated.

The county has around 36,000 registered voters.

During the early voting period, any registered voter may cast a ballot at an early poll. On Election Day Tuesday, voters must go to their home precincts.

Early polls are open at the Board of Elections in Whiteville; Chadbourn Municipal Annex; Tabor City Courthouse; Fair Bluff Fire and Rescue Building; and Ransom Events Center.
