Clarkton Man Charged with Raping Teen
Bladen County authorities have arrested a registered sex offender for allegedly raping a teenager.
The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office said that Fredrick Patrick Chancey, 43, of Clarkton, was held under a secured bond on charges of statutory rape, first degree kidnapping and sexual battery. He was taken into custody Monday (today).
The N.C. Sex Offender Registry lists Chancey’s address as 5190 Mercer Mill Rd., Clarkton. His most recent conviction was in Columbus County for two counts of kidnapping a minor in 2002. He was sentenced to 38 months in prison in 2003, but released in 2004. He is required to maintain his registry status for 10 years, according to the SBI.
The charges stemmed from an incident on Nov. 11 involving a 15 year old, the BCSO said. The investigation is ongoing and no further details were available.
