Clarence Velton Mitchell

Clarence Velton Mitchell, son of the late George Alton Mitchell and Stella Marie Jacobs.

Mitchell was born on February 22, 1955, in Columbus County, NC. He departed this life on October 20, 2022, at the age of 67.

Clarence made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ at an early age. He enjoyed spending time outside and working with his hands, teaching his son, Kevin, the way of life, encouraging him all the time to get a good education. He loved to tell his stories of growing up, while working on the different farms with his dad. He did love to laugh and loved to raise his vegetables, before becoming disabled.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Tonda Lou Mason Mitchell of the home; one son, Kevin, of the home; nephew, Preston Mitchell, which was raised as his own son (Faye) of Lake Waccamaw; sister, Shirley Freeman of Bolton; two brothers, George Mitchell (Allison) of Clinton, Donnie Mitchell (Jackie) of Bolton; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Mitchell; sisters, Vera Redwine, Geraldine Goodman, Theresa Huggins, and Wilma Coleman.
