Chauncey Town Road Shift Starts Friday

Chauncey Town Road at U.S. 74 will shift to a temporary new traffic pattern Friday.

The Department of Transportation announced this morning that vehicles will be redirected from the existing roadway onto a parallel temporary road. The temporary road will maintain the same reduced-conflict intersection currently in place.

The move is the start of the new overpass at Lake Waccamaw. A new overpass without access to the four-lane is also being constructed at Old Lake and U.S. 74. The $44 million project should be completed in 2025.
