CBA Discusses Mission Trips
The Columbus Baptist Association will be holding meetings to discuss their 2023 mission trips to Wyoming and Nicaragua. The first meeting will be held on Monday, Jan. 30, and another gathering will follow on Feb. 6. Both sessions will be held at 7 p.m. at the CBA office.
The purpose of the events is to discuss costs, dates, types of trips, and the activities.
"Join us for one or both of these meetings to find out more about our 2023 mission trips to Wyoming and Nicaragua," said Rev. Dave Heller in a Facebook post.
For the past 12 years, the CBA has partnered with the On Eagles Wings Ministry in Leon, Nicaragua with Oscar Correa and his team. The ministry currently serves over 16,000 children, their families, and their pastors in over 96 villages around Nicaragua. Correa's organization provides food for the feeding centers free of charge to the pastors who take it back to their villages and feed the children at least one hot meal each day. The CBA sends a group of folks at least once a year for the purpose of medical missions, Vacation Bible School, construction assistance, and other projects. This summer, the project will be the installation of hand washing stations and medical assistance.
Two trips to Wyoming are also planned this year. One will be focused on an outdoor revival, and the second journey will help to winterize homes for needy families.
The group will also hold the next Backpack Buddies Packing Party on Monday, Jan. 9, at 7 p.m. at the Columbus Baptist Association office in Whiteville. Each backpack is filled with a weekend’s worth of food to provide meals and snacks for a child who might not have enough food at home.
