Anchorage Camp Barbecue Raises Funds for Skate Floor
The Anchorage Camp of Lake Waccamaw is a place of great past times, and there is none better than the facility's annual skate nights. The event runs from the end of January to mid-March each year, and folks get to enjoy a night of roller skating, food, beverages, and fellowship.
All those wheels rolling eventually takes a toll on those shiny floors, and now the organization needs help to get them refinished.
The camp will be hosting a fundraiser barbecue family dinner multiple days over the next two months to raise funds to spruce up the roller rink. The meals will feed up to a family of four, and the cost will be between $25-30 with the option to add extras for a few dollars more.
The spread will include barbecue, coleslaw, and/or baked beans, and 12 rolls.
The fundraiser will be held on Feb. 7 and 21, and again on March 7 and 21. Pick up will be from 5-7 p.m. at the snack shop of the Anchorage Camp each evening of the event. Payment by cash, check, or card is due at the time of pick up.
Skate nights are held every Saturday through March 18. The cost is $7 per person, and the snack shop and coffee bar will be open for folks to enjoy. The fun starts at 7 p.m.
The camp is located at 412 Lakeshore Drive at Lake Waccamaw. For more information about either of the events, call 910.646.4111.
