Alleged Arsonist Arrested

One man has been arrested for allegedly burning a house on Brady Plantation Road Friday.

Parrish Markcues Jones, 30, is held under $250,000 secured bond in the Bladen County Detention center under a single count of second degree arson. He was arrested near the scene by the Bladen Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff James McVicker said in a press release that firefighters were called to the home in the 800 block of South Brady Friday afternoon. Additional 911 callers reported Jones fleeing the home.

When deputies arrived, Jones allegedly ran from law enforcement. He was captured a short distance away.
