Loud Exhaust Leads to Arrest

Loud mufflers and a tail light led to the discovery of drugs in a vehicle near Whiteville Friday.

Josie Camaro Boswell, 19, of 485 J.K. Powell Blvd., Whiteville, was held under $5,000 secured bond in the arrest. She was charged with possession of prescription narcotics and opiates, drug paraphernalia, a taillight violation, and improper muffler.

The sheriff’s office reported that a deputy stopped Boswell at the intersection of Washington Street and J.K. Powell Boulevard just after 9 p.m. for the equipment violations. Boswell consented to a search of the truck she was driving.

The report said she had a pill bottle containing Inside the vehicle the deputy located 17 Promethezine and one Buprenorphine tablets.
