Brunswick deputies used a large offroad vehicle to rescue – and arrest – a missing man near Leland today.

Anthony Andrew Snyder, 40, is being held for failure to appear, probation violations and two counts of misdemeanor child abuse. His address was listed as Colon Mintz Road, Leland.

The Brunswick Sheriff’s Office said that Snyder was reported missing this morning (Thursday) after entering a wooded area near his home. Deputies with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office responded, along with the BCSO Man Tracking Team, Vice and Narcotics Unit, Criminal Investigations Unit, Drone Unit and Air One.

He was found in a dense wooded area after apparently being unable to make his way out, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies used the SHERP Utility vehicle to reach Snyder and take him into custody.
