Shizzy’s Wildcat Rescue Updated Summer Schedule

Shizzy's wildcat rescue

A local exotic animal rescue will be holding several volunteer days throughout the summer. Shizzy’s Wildcat Rescue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping animals held in captivity and in the wild. They are in the process of building a safe haven for animals rescued from private ownership, breeders, circuses and other poor conditions in the town of Fair Bluff.

Lions, tigers, snow leopards, cougars, ocelots, servals, bobcats, caracals, wolves, bears, and other apex predators will be able to live out the rest of their lives in a comfortable and safe natural habitat. Some conditions the animals have lived in are so severe that many of them have never even touched grass, or even walked around anywhere other than in a cage.

The organization has been working diligently over the last two years to finish constructing the facility to house these exotic animals, and they have room on the fence line for volunteers to join them in their plight. Shizzy’s will be holding volunteer workdays on June 24, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Other workdays include July 15 and 29, and Aug. 5 and 26.
