Bladen authorities have arrested a man for selling property without permission, and pocketing the money.

Kevin Heath Todd, 47, was released on $25,000 unsecured bond on charged of obtaining property by false pretenses, forging a deed, and common law forgery. His address was not listed on a release by the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

Todd is alleged to have sold a parcel of land owned by Abbotts Precinct Community Property inc. without the consent of the organization. Todd reportedly sold the land, deeded it to another member of the community, and deposited the money in a new bank account set up for that purpose.

The Bladen sheriff’s office said Todd falsely represented himself as treasure for the community organization to facilitate the sale.

The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are pending, the release said.
Abbottsburg is located between Clarkton and Bladenboro.
