Barbara Joan Auer Schachnuk 84, of Whiteville formerly of Severna Park, Maryland passed on Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Angel House, Whiteville.  She was born in Baltimore City, MD the daughter of the late Joseph John Auer and Frances Doherty Auer.  She was preceded in death by her husband, John Leo Schachnuk.

She was a Registered Nurse having worked at Crafton Family Medical Practice and North Arundel Hospital.

She is survived by a son, Joseph Michael Schachnuk and wife, Cynthia Fredrick of Whiteville; a daughter, Patricia Ann Nannen and husband, John of Palm Beach, FL; a brother, Joseph D. Auer and wife, Barbara of Catonsville, MD; grandchildren, Travis Nannen, Zachery Nannen, Timothy Michael Schachnuk and wife, Elisa; great grandchildren, Sena Schachnuk and Sadie Schachnuk.
