The Wolfpack Gets Stung in North Brunswick

The Whiteville Wolfpack Varsity Football Team took a tough 44-15 loss in its weather delayed season opener against the Scorpions of North Brunswick on Saturday.

North Brunswick with a larger squad, kept a constant flow of fresh players from the sidelines, and with mid-day temperatures on the turf reaching the upper 90’s, it was just too much sting for the Pack where many of the players work both sides of the ball. And although the Pack played a tough game, it was the Scorpions coming out on top, 44-15.

This Friday night, the Wolfpack returns home to host West Brunswick at Legion Stadium. The Merritt’s Sporting Goods Pregame Show is at 7:10pm, and the Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. You can catch all the action on your Official Wolfpack Broadcast Station WTXY Kool 103.9FM, and online at www.Kool1039Radio.com. Vinny Pagano and Frankie Burney will be calling the action in the broadcast booth. (All Photos by Savanna Elkins)
