Couple Charged with Felony Child Abuse

A visit by Social Services led to the arrest of a Tabor City-area couple.

Jail reports show Lyndsey Taylor Johnson, 25, and Michael Lynn Soles Jr., 24, were arrested on two counts each of felony child abuse, resulting in serious injuries. Bond was set at $50,000 for each suspect.

The sheriff’s office reported that the Department of Social Services performed a well-check investigation on the children, ages one and two, on Tuesday. Both children had serious injuries, and were taken by EMS to an area hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The incident occurred at 1153 Emerson Church Rd., Tabor City, which was listed as Soles’ address.

Johnson gave her address as 864 Big Ave., Tabor City.
