Members of the Waccamaw Siouan tribe brought color and culture to downtown Whiteville Saturday with a special program.
The event showcased both the tribe’s history and modern programs the group promotes through the Tribal Center in Buckhead. A number of native-owned businesses set up booths. There were traditional dancers as well as programs on the culture, challenges and successes of the tribe.
