This Saturday is the Military Veteran Riders Association’s 23rd annual Columbus County Toy Run.

The turnout is expected to be better than in past years, with pleasant weather and great times awaiting all riders. The ride starts and ends in the Walmart parking lot in Whiteville. Pre-ride gathering and registration will start around 8:30 a.m., with kick stands up at 9:30 a.m. as riders head out down the road. There are 14 planned stops along the route, including Van Underwood, Murf’s Pawn, Dollar General and Dr. Daniel’s office in Whiteville.

A new, unwrapped toy or a $10 cash donation is the price of registration for the ride. You can also drop off new unwrapped toys at the above locations or the Whiteville Walmart’s parking lot on the day of the event.

Toys will go to the Columbus Baptist Association to be distributed to families in need across Columbus County.
