Cloyd Gerald Strickland, age 64 of Chadbourn, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare in Whiteville, NC.

Cloyd was born on June 17, 1957 in Columbus County. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beth June Worley Strickland, his son, Christopher Gerald Strickland.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Tyson Cemetery in Cerro Gordo, with Pastor Jonathan Simmons, Pastor of Chadbourn Church of God, officiating.

Cloyd leaves behind his wife, Catherine “Cathy” Lou Batten Strickland of the home; his father, Lloyd Gerald Strickland of Chadbourn; children, Megan E. Ward (Flint) of Chadbourn; step-son, Kelton Batten (Loretta) of Nakina; grandchildren, Kelsey Batten, Katelyn Bowen (Chase), Lea Ward; great-grandson, Elliott Bowen; siblings, Jennifer Strickland Stocks (Allen) of Nakina, Boyd Strickland (Shelia) of Cerro Gordo, Bryan Strickland (June Carol) of Mt. Pleasent, SC.
