Mary Margaret Britt Simmons, age 93 of Evergreen, peacefully slipped into eternity on Monday, August 2, 2021, at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton.

Margaret was born on May 14, 1928, in Robeson County to the late Hezie Britt. She was the widow of late Asberry Clyde Simmons and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Simmons Smith; siblings, Nannie B. Simmons, Eva B. Stephens, Rosa Lee B. Conner, Iley B. Edmond, Vera Britt, Lacy Britt, Ellis Britt, Bracey Britt, and Horace Britt; grandchildren, Kimberly Simmons, Colt Willoughby, and Michele Phillips.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Gerald McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in the Boardman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-3:45, prior to the service on Thursday.

Survivors include her children, Judy Carol Simmons Phillips and her husband, E.J., of Evergreen, William “Buddy” Asberry Simmons and his wife, Judy Kay, of Evergreen and Horace Glenn Simmons and his wife, Debra, of Bladenboro; grandchildren, Gerald D. Smith, Shannon Lee Simmons Ellis (Yancy), Angie Carol Phillips Willoughby (Trip), Will Simmons (Bailey), Jonathan Andrew Simmons (Amanda), Joseph Alexander Simmons (Lauren), Abigail Elizabeth Simmons, Joshua Adam Simmons; great-grandchildren, Emma, Colin, Baylee, and soon arriving, Ellie.
