Glenn Alan Ward, age 68, of Whiteville, died Sunday, August 1, 2021 in Atrium Health Cabarrus, Concord, NC.

Born April 3, 1953 in Columbus County, NC, he was the son of the late James Dayton and Nona Puckett Ward.  

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Ward of the home, his children, Matthew Christopher Ward and his wife Lynn of Lavonia, GA, Rebekah Ellen Benton and her husband William Chad of Lake Waccamaw, and Holly Marie Welborn and her husband Kevin of Hartwell, GA, his sisters, Janice White of Ash, Jane Bousqet of Durham, and Sandra Everett of Fair Bluff, his grandchildren, Drake Bragg, Tayllor Philpot, Blake Ward, Jessica Benton, Alexandria Benton and Charlotte Benton and his one great-grandchild, Travis Jackson.

He was a veteran of the United States Army. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 6:00 PM in the Inman Ward Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
