Arthur Ray Davis, age 65 of the Pleasant Plains Community in Whiteville, died on Monday, August 16, 2021, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Ray was born on January 4, 1956, in Columbus County, to the late J.B. and Ruby Beard Davis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Terry Wynne Watts Davis and his sister, Linda D. Lewis.

Graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Flynn Cemetery with Dr. Tommy Bryson officiating.

Survivors include his daughters, Janice Lee Davis Smith (Harrell) of Whiteville, Cheryl Lynn Davis (Ronald) of Chadbourn; siblings, Mary D. Bright (Charles) of Whiteville, Patsy D. Tatum (Earl) of Old Dock, Shelby Jean Hinson (Craig) of Chadbourn; grandchildren, Austin Smith, Nathan Smith, Izzabella Smith, Amber Paris, and Sally Paris; great-grandchildren, Braxton Nobles and John Olan Burr, III.
