Lake town offices closed to walk-in traffic

Lake Waccamaw's Christmas parade has been cancelled for this year due to the pandemic.

Lake Waccamaw’s town hall is closed to walk-in traffic due a possible outbreak of COVID-19.

Sara Coffman of the town staff said Town manager Damon Kempski and town officials made the decision earlier this week.
Several town employees may have been exposed, and officials opted to err on the side of caution, Coffman said.

The lake was one of the first towns in the county to reopen commissioners meetings  to the public, rather than using a digital-only format. Coffman said the board will make a final decision in the coming days about whether to return to the online -only format.

Payments can be dropped in the gray box beside Town Hall, Coffman said.

Staff is still working, and is available by phone during regular business hours. Call 646.3700 for more information.
