Katie Mae Carmichael, age 86 of Whiteville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. 

Katie was born on May 24, 1935, in Roland, to the late John and Lou Ella White Bethea.  She was also preceded in death by her husband Eddie Carmichael, three sisters, and four brothers.

She was a member of Mt. Horeb AME Church in Evergreen. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 10 am on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Evergreen Community Cemetery, 1574 Old Hwy 74 Evergreen, NC.

A walk-through viewing will be held from 3pm – 6 pm on Friday, July 16, 2021, at D&A Funeral Services Chapel, 212 South Wilkes Street, Chadbourn. 

She leaves to cherish her memory four sons Fletcher Bethea of Whiteville, William Carmichael (Tabitha) of FL., Roscoe Bethea (Darlene) of Evergreen, and James Bethea of Evergreen.  A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  A special niece Mildred McDufffie and a special nephew Alton Bethea. 

D&A Funeral Services, Inc. of Chadbourn is serving the Carmichael family.
