1933 – 2021

Mr. Harold Gray Duncan  87, of Whiteville passed on Saturday, July 3, 2021.  He was born October 14, 1933 in Bladen County, the son of the late Lonnie S. and Mary Todd Duncan.

He was a member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church in Whiteville.  He was formerly employed with NAPA Auto Parts in Whiteville.

He is survived by his children, Gary Duncan (Laura) of Mebane, NC, Donna Poe (Brian) of Mebane, NC, Melissa Vetrano ( Steve) of Whiteville, Sandra Benton (Keith) of Whiteville, Nancy Benton of Whiteville; grandchildren, Michelle Goodner, Andrea Logan, Ashley Duncan, Kevin Benton, Brian Benton, Scott Benton, Stephanie Ward, Jessica Benton, Zack Duncan, Jordan Vetrano and Noah Vetrano; twenty -two great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Opal Stephens.

He was preceded in death by his wives, Maxine Stephens Duncan and Hilda Soles Duncan; his parents; a sister, Maitland Duncan Lurie; a brother, Vertise Duncan and a brother-in-law, Michael Stephens.

His funeral service will be  11:00 am Wednesday,  July 7, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Heller officiating.  Burial will be in Peacock’s Columbus Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home.
