Frances Louise Odom Payne, age 93 of Bolton, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 23, 2021, at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whiteville.

Frances was born on August 6, 1927, in New Hanover County, to the late Francis Marion Odom and Idella Piner Odom. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvy David Payne; a son, Robert Allen Payne and her siblings, George Odom, Margaret Rager, John Odom, Mary Murray, Thomas Odom, Katie Parker, and Lewis Odom (infant); and a great-grandson, Jared Moore. 

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 26, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Mr. Gary Lee Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Bolton, NC. 

Visitation will be held from 2:00-2:45, prior to the service on Monday. 

Frances leaves behind her children, John David Payne, Sr. (Libby) of Hamlet, Linda P. Noble (Ray) of Bolton, and Gary Lee Payne (Sheldia) of Rockingham; daughter-in-law, Debra Best Payne of Whiteville; grandchildren, John David Payne, Jr. (Jackie), Paula Moore (Randy), Stephanie Payne, Jeremy Noble (Angela), David Blair Noble, Justin Payne (Jessica), Jason Payne (Angie), Alisha Payne, Bryan Payne (Sarah), and Matt Payne (Barbara); 29 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
