Rodeo returns to Lake Waccamaw

The cowboys (and cowgirls) are coming back to Lake Waccamaw.

The Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina will host a rodeo Aug. 13 – 14. It is sponsored by the Southeastern Gospel Music Association. General admission is $15, and $12 for first responders and military with identification. Children between the ages of six and ten will be admitted for $10, and those five years old and younger will be admitted for free. Gates open at 6pm. Events featured will be: 

bullriding; calf roping; saddle bronc riding; team roping; barrel racing; steer wrestling; breakaway roping; and bareback riding. 

The rodeo will be at the Benton Arena on Bill Thompson Lane. For more information, call 910.646.3083. All proceeds benefit the children and families of the Boys and Girls Home.
