March 5, 1923 ~ June 22, 2021 (age 98)

Everett “Bubby” Strickland, age 98 of the Cherry Grove Community in Cerro Gordo, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at the Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Whiteville, with family by his side.

Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021 at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rusty Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in Cherry Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at Worthington Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by eight siblings, Von Strickland, Valerie Strickland, Velton Strickland, George Strickland, Robert “Happy” Strickland, Susie S. Campany, Beamon Strickland and Prudie S Waddell.

Mr. Strickland is survived by many nieces and nephews.
