Academy to hold Freshman Family Night and Picnic

Columbus Career and College Academy will be having a Freshman Family Night and Picnic on July 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium at the Southeastern Community College campus. Due to seating limitations, the staff asks that each student bring no more than two guests.

The event is very important for members of the incoming freshman class. The early college will be providing information about classes, extra-curricular activities, transportation, and the school calendar.

Students and their families will be asked to complete forms and information cards that are part of enrolling at Columbus Career and College Academy. Polo shirts and t-shirts will also be available for purchase, and there will be a table set up so parents and students can pay 2021-2022 school fees. School fees typically range from $50 to $100 depending on the courses chosen by the student.

The first day of school will be Aug. 2. The first two days, known as Freshman Boot Camp, are extremely important as students will get to know each other and the staff, use critical thinking skills in various activities, and become accustomed to the high school experience. Students will not need to bring books at that time.

For more information, call 910.642.7141 extension 422, or go by the M building at the Southeastern Community College Campus.
