Mr. James Jacobs, 83, of Council passed on May 7, 2021.  He was born in Columbus County on August 8, 1937 the son of the late Eli Jacobs and Martha Agnes Young Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Young Jacobs; brothers, Russell & Gary Jacobs; a sister, Anita Stills, a  great granddaughter, Leigha Marie Jacobs.

He is survived by two daughters, Patsy Jacobs Cummings and husband, Anthony of Council, Tammy Jacobs Patrick and husband, Michael of Council; a brother, Frank Clark Freeman of Whiteville; sisters, Lillian Brewington, Dorothy Jacobs and husband, Ervin, Reba Freeman,  Teresa Freeman, Jerhie Jacobs,  Wanda Freeman and husband, Tommy,  all of Buckhead,  Sylvia Hunt and husband, Jack of Chadbourn; four grandchildren;  four great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob Stills.

Mr. Jacobs funeral service will be at 3:00 PM Thursday, May 13, 2021 at New Hope 
Baptist Church by Rev. Mike Jacobs, Rev. Don Carter and Rev. Howard T. Jacobs.  Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
His family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Peacock Funeral Home.
