BREAKING NEWS: Broken gas line repaired

1145 update: The gas line has been repaired, and the roads are now reopened. Traffic is still congested in downtown Whiteville.
A construction crew broke a gas line on J.K. Powell Boulevard in the area of Dale’s Seafood in Whiteville this morning (Thursday).
Traffic was rerouted from the area.
The line has been repaired, and Powell Boulevard is open again. Traffic has been slowed through downtown Whiteville due to detours from the break and the Franklin Street drainage project.
