Man charged after spitting in officer’s face

Chadbourn Police and deputies jailed a Whiteville man on multiple charges after he allegedly had narcotics in his vehicle and spat on the arresting officers.

Chadbourn Police and Columbus County deputies were operating a checkpoint at the intersection of elm Street and Strawberry boulevard when the incident occurred. Dennis Eric Foster, 27, approached the traffic stop, and officers detected the odor of marijuana in his vehicle. 

When the vehicle was searched, officers found large quantities of oxycodone and hydrocodone pills, as well as a quantity of marijuana.

As he was being arrested, Dennis allegedly spat in a deputy’s face.

Foster was held under $77,500 secured bond in the incident. He was charged with two counts each of trafficking opiates, malicious conduct by a prisoner and resisting an officer, along with maintaining a vehicle for drug activities and simple possession of marijuana. His address was listed as 55 Garden Lane, Whiteville.
