Walter Stokes Kisiah, Sr.

August 20, 1936 ~ March 5, 2021

Walter Stokes Kisiah Sr., age 84 of Whiteville, went to his Heavenly home on Friday, March 5, 2021, at the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Center in Whiteville, N.C..

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Pleasant Plans Baptist Church with Dr. Dave Heller officiating.

Stokes loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Pleasant Plains Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.   He was also an avid golfer. 

Stokes was born on August 20, 1936 in Mecklenburg County to the late Raymond Bartley Kisiah and Mertie Lu Hudson Kisiah.    He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Susie Moore and Reverend Donnie Kisiah; and a granddaughter, Shelley Arms.   

To cherish his memory he leaves his wife, Carol Burroughs Kisiah, of the home; a daughter, Cindy K. Arms and her husband, Keith of Campobello, S.C.; a son Walter S. Kisiah, Jr. of Charlotte; a brother, Ray L. Kisiah (Martha) of Asheville; six grandchildren, Andrew Love, Sheena Kisiah, Krystal Cartrette, Ken West, Kaitlin Edwards and Brittany Kelly; and many great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins..

Memorials may be made to Pleasant Plains Baptist Church, 31 Pleasant Plains Church Road, Whiteville, N.C. 28472 or to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Angel House, 206 Warrior Trail, Whiteville, N.C. 28472.
