Myra Jane Mason Ward, age 56 of Whiteville, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Atrium Health in Charlotte, following a recent illness.

Myra was born on February 16, 1965, to the late William Claude and Ruby Frances Crowder Mason.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 22, 2021 at Worthington Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Long officiating; Interment will follow in the Hosea Simmons Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 Sunday evening, at the funeral home. 

Survivors include her beloved husband, Walter Ray “Pete” Ward of the home; children: Jessica D. Herring (Andy) of Whiteville, Krystal W. Simpson (David) of Whiteville, Ashley W. Manning (Jordan) of Tabor City, Heather M. Harper (Jason) of Tabor City; siblings: Dolly Davis of Whiteville, Cathy Cliff (Rudy) of Evergreen, Tonda Mitchell (Clarence) of Buckhead, Willette Mason (Fitzgerald) of St. James; grandchildren: Andrea, Madison, Brys-sun, Ila, Ally, Jacob, Peighton, Axel, Carter Rose, and many nieces and nephews.
