Frying pan used in Flynn Road fracas

Two men were charged and one was injured after a frying pan assault Sunday.

The sheriff’s office reported that a deputy responded to Flynn Cemetery Road between Hallsboro and Whiteville in reference to a disturbance.  Brandon Lee, 38, and Billy Lee, 57, were engaged in a disagreement which turned into a fight, according to the report.

Billy Lee allegedly struck Brandon Lee in the head with a frying pan, according to the report.

Deputies were attempting to detain Billy Lee because he was “belligerent,” according to the report, but “he resisted being detained.” That led to a charge of resisting arrest.

Billy Lewis Lee was placed under a $1,000 secured bond. His address was listed as 407 Smyrna Rd., Whteville.

Brandon Lewis Lee gave his address as 214 E. Virgil St., Whiteville. A records check showed he was wanted for misdemeanor larceny. He was held under a $15,000 secured bond. Alcohol was a contributing factor to the incident, according to the report.
