Earl Jennings Cook, age 88, of Charlotte, N.C. died Thursday evening, October 29, 2020, at Novant Health Presbyterian Hospice.  Mr. Cook was born on September 27, 1932 to the late Austin Earl Cook and Estelle Elkins Cook in Columbus County.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Ray Cook and Johnny Cook.

Earl was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Korean Conflict.  He worked as in Airlines Controls Operation for 30 years.  Mr. Cook was a member of S. Mecklenburg Presbyterian Church of Charlotte.

He is survived by his wife; Nancy Smith Cook of Charlotte; a daughter; Gayle C. Ireland (Curtis) of Charlotte; and one grandson; Parker Douglas Ireland also of Charlotte.

A graveside service was held on Monday, November 2, 2020, at Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Darryll Hester officiating.
