Two dead, one airlifted from Overflow crash

Update: 3:30 p.m. Oct. 16.

The Highway Patrol has identified the two men killed in a single vehicle wreck near the Columbus-Brunswick line Thursday morning.
Juan Perez, 21, of Woodland and Kevin Ramirez, 21, of Falcon, both died when the GMC van wrecked on N.C. 130 in the Overflow area.
Perez apparently went off the right shoulder, overcorrected then overturned in the roadway. Alvaro Sanchez, 25, was airlifted to New Hanover in serious condition.

Traffic was blocked, then down to one lane for more than an hour. The crash occurred around 8:15 a.m.

The fatalities bring the death toll on county roads to 18 this year.
