Local man killed in Myrtle Beach

A Guideway man was shot and killed, and another seriously injured in a shooting at Myrtle Beach restaurant around 1 a.m. today.

Albert Soles Jr., better known as AJ, was killed at the Cookout restaurant, according to law enforcement reports. The eatery is located at 1800 King’s Highway.

Myrtle Beach Police reported that they were called to the scene shortly before 1 a.m. after someone reported hearing gunshots. Officers found both men shot. Soles died around 4:40 a.m. at Grand Strand Hospital, according to police. The second victim’s name and condition were not immediately available.

One person is in custody in the case, MBPD said. Soles was from the Guideway community.
